Clash of the Kingdoms | Week Four | Out With the Old, In With the New (Matt 21:23-46)
Jesus shares the Parable of the Two Sons and the Parable of the Tenants. He does so at the tail end of the chief priests asking by what authority that He is doing these things (i.e. clearing the temple). Both parables are about producing fruit; living it not saying it.

Clash of the Kingdoms | Week Three | Five Narratives from Matthew (Matt 21:1-22)
Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Jesus enters the temple area and clears out the money changers and those transacting business. He declared that, “My house will be called a house of prayer.” The next morning, He curses a fruitless fig tree. Let the house of the Lord have ears to hear!

Clash of the Kingdoms | Week Two | God is Not Being Unfair to You! (Matt 20)
Through the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, describing His own death, shutting down elevated self-importance, and then giving sight to two beggars, Jesus shows us something very important. It is all about perspective, a healthy big dose of perspective!

Clash of the Kingdoms | Week One | What Must I Do? (Matthew 19:1-30)
Finding security and identity in wealth or finances is really finding it in ourselves and what we think we can do or provide. This hinders our walk with Christ greatly. It is a direct kingdom clash. We will talk about Jesus’ thought provoking encounter with the rich young ruler and what that means for us. Jesus also discusses divorce and remarriage again in this text (19:1-15.) We covered this very important topic in our series, Sermon on the Mount- Week 5, which covered Matthew chapter 5. If you’d like to go back and listen, it’s available on our website.

Giving Your ALL | Week 4 | The Heart of Missions
One of the core values of our church is advancing the Kingdom of God by extending Jesus and His message into our community, county, and world through local and world missions. As part of God's call for us to be an apostolic church, we influence those around us, we go when called upon, and we financially support certain missions ministries each month with Faith Pledge Missions Giving.

Giving Your ALL | Week 3 | Do We Really Need to Give Tithes and Offerings?
There is a stigma on the church today when it comes to money. Many believing that Christian organizations, including the church, just have their “hand out.” Does God want us to give our hard-earned money to the church that we attend? Is the tithe a New Testament principle? What is the clearest pattern of giving found in Scripture? These questions and more will be addressed.

God is pleased most when we exemplify His heart. He is truly a giving Father. Not only is He the originator of life and all things; He showed it most when He gave His Son to die for our sins. The true heart of giving is when we do not withhold anything from Him. Not our wealth, our relationships, our resources, or our time.

Giving Your ALL | Week 1 | Run In Such a Way
We are compelled in Scripture to run the race of faith that is before us. Just as a physical race would need our training and dedication to secure victory, so too our spiritual one. Our pursuit to know Jesus, and be known by Him, is the greatest possible endeavor we can put our heart, soul, and mind to. Isn’t it time we take it serious? It is time we run in such a way…

Jesus" spotlighting four of the names or titles of Jesus. Each week someone will be asked what their favorite name or title of Jesus given in Scripture is. In addition, why and how has He demonstrated Himself in that way or form in their life? This week: The Word.

Great Expectations | Week Nine | Dealing with Offense Part 2 (Matt 18:21-35)
First a testimony by Richard Millner and then... Dealing with Offenses Part 2- Since offense is such a huge struggle and issue for many of us as humans and Christians, Jesus’ instructions are life giving! We will review his course for conflict resolution once again as well as his teaching on forgiveness. Without forgiveness, truly understanding what that means and embodying His forgiveness, offense will continue to torture its victim.

Great Expectations | Week Eight | Dealing with Offense Part 1 (Matt 18:1-20)
Part 1- One of the biggest tools of Satan against the Church is offense. He desires to divide, cripple, and conquer. “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” is a misnomer. Words along with deeds can cause much damage and deep scarring. Jesus gives incredible counsel, actually commands on how to deal with conflict resolution. This comes into effect especially with offense. We would do well to heed His words and resist the temptation of gossip, taking sides, and taking on someone else’s offense. A must for every Christian.

Great Expectations | Week Seven | Help My Unbelief (Matt 17:1-27)
The disciples experienced SO MUCH! Just take this section of Scripture we are looking at in Matthew: Peter, James, and John witness the transfiguration of Jesus, hear God’s audible voice, Moses and Elijah appear, and a bright cloud envelopes them. Not your ordinary day to say the least! Afterward, they could not drive a demon out of a boy. They asked Jesus why. His answer: they lacked faith. After everything they experienced?! Seriously? Yep! So it is with us. Why?

Great Expectations | Week Six | Kingdom Keys, Binding, Loosing, and Get Behind Me Satan! (Matt. 16:19-28)
As Peter is commended that his confession that Jesus is the Christ, and that His church will be built upon this revelation, he is given keys to the kingdom. What are these keys? He is told that whatever they bind or loose on earth will be bound or loosed in heaven. We hear so much in the spirit-filled charismatic churches of ‘binding’ Satan. Is this what Jesus is referring to in Matthew? Can we actually bind Satan as a Christian? Or was Jesus referring to something else? We also look at Peter’s loving rebuke of Jesus and why Jesus’ response had to be immediate and scorching.

Great Expectations | Week Five | Who Do YOU Say I Am? (Matt 16:1-19)
This is one of the greatest teaching moments in the lives’ of Jesus’ disciples. Jesus always asked questions that probed deeply, none more so than here. He asks what do others say of Me? But what about YOU? Peter’s confession was foundational for his life and the life of the Church.

Great Expectations | Week Three | Making What Man Says More Important Than What God Says (Matt 15:1-20)
When men consider our interpretations of God’s word as taking precedence over God’s word itself, we have produced a new gospel; that is not a “gospel” at all! What doctrines of men could we currently be blindly accepting as Scripture, because we don’t actually know the tenants of the Word of God?

Jesus walked on water toward His disciples and called Peter out to join Him. Yes, to WALK ON WATER also! Here is Peter, doing the miraculous, the impossible, the Spirit-driven and directed. Then it happened, he began to sink! Too good to be true? Too difficult to maintain? No, Peter’s focus shifted from Jesus’ outstretched hand to the storm, the waves, and the impossibility of it all. Sound familiar?

Great Expectations | Week One | Lack of Faith (Matt 13:53- 14:21)
This center section of Matthew (and chapter 14) could rightly start at the tail end of chapter 13, verse 53; and that is where we begin this new series. One of the most damning sentences in Scripture is as follows: “And He did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.” How does that apply to our own faith-level? This was Jesus’ hometown; where they had a certain expectation of who He was, or who He was NOT. What about our expectations? How much of that feeds into our little faith? Elsewhere He feeds five thousand with a kid’s lunch!

There is what is termed as the ‘visible’ church (those who call themselves Christians- that you and I can see) and the ‘invisible’ church (those that Christ alone knows are His among them). Here, Jesus gives an eschatological parable, stating that He will indeed sort out who is His and who is not, though the difference may not always be readily apparent.

Responding to Jesus | Week Five | Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-23)
Matthew Chapter 13 is a special chapter known for its wall-to-wall parables. First up, a parable that gives great insight into how one responds to the Word of God and how one ‘sows’ or gives the message. Ultimately, it is a declaration of the condition of the ‘soil’ of the person receiving the life-giving ‘seed.’
