Stepping into Community
How Do I Meet People?
The Church at Whistling Pines is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at The Church at Whistling Pines:
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, The Church at Whistling Pines has small groups meeting in homes, parks, restaurants, almost any where people gather. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve, based on various common interests. Please get involved in at least one Life Group. It’s how we do church.
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The children’s ministry of The Church at Whistling Pines is recognized for their close interaction.
Each Wednesday, and various other times during the week, our Teens are gathering in their own Life Groups to encourage one another, serve in the community, and learn how to follow Jesus.
Women’s Groups at Whistling Pines, give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, meet in several locations throughout our community, for times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. Accountability groups of three are formed among the men’s groups meeting together as their schedules allow and keep in touch by email or phone.
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The Church at Whistling Pines believes strongly that Christian marriages need encouragement and support. We provide opportunities throughout the year for couples to interact with one another in an atmosphere of mutual support. Marriage mentoring is available from pastors and other leaders to those who need another couple to come along side.
