The “good news” can only continue to be just that when we understand why it is good news and that it is a present tense reality for those who do not know Him AND for those who do. When the Sanhedrin wanted to put to death the apostles, a Pharisee named Gamaliel spoke up and prevented it. He reasoned with them that if it was of human origin then it would fail. If it is from God, you aren’t able to stop it and find yourself fighting against God Himself. When we look for things to save us or to worship that are “of human origin” we have ceased to be transformed by the Gospel.
