If There Is No Resurrection
The reality of the Gospel is not just that forgiveness of sins is ours in Christ Jesus, by His grace, through our trust in Him. But also that of resurrection life. However, what if there is no resurrection from the dead as many of the people of Corinth believed? The Apostle Paul says that our faith is then futile (present tense). Does the testimony of our present Christian walk reflect resurrection life?

    Easter Sunday- Resurrection Power
(FROM OUR SERIES: DUNAMIS- THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT) Being in Christ brings death to the body of sin within us as we submit to God. As we die to sin, we live through His Spirit; living for Him and with Him. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead physically lives inside of us as a follower of Christ. That power innately gives life! Without the power of the Holy Spirit we are dead in our sins and do not experience resurrection. (Luke 24:46-49; Romans 8:9-11; John 3:1-8; 1 Corinthians 15:12-22)

    Easter Sunday- The Resurrection

    Easter Sermon Title page

My sin put Jesus on the cross. He who was without sin bore my thoughts, actions, lifestyle, doubts, unbelief, unforgiveness, pride, and fears, along with their penalty. Jesus took my place; He took my death so that I could be reconciled to God and that I may have life to the full. Because Jesus rose from the grave and conquered sin and death, I experience resurrection life in and through His life! Jesus once again takes my place, His life I now live. The Resurrection is not an event—it is a person!

Easter Sunday- God’s Emancipation Proclamation (Romans 6:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
On this Resurrection Sunday, we consider the lasting effects of Jesus’ sacrifice and his triumphant resurrection in the life of the person who now lives for Him. His victory over death completed the work that frees us from the tyranny of sin. We are now free! We will also talk about the role that baptism has and witness the joy of others being baptized. This act of obedience shows the personal application of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ in our place for our sins. New life is worth celebrating!
